Well here we are, another month has gone by and I haven’t really blogged. Lately I’ve felt more and more antsy, like, “Whoa, time is going by too quickly” combined with “Whoa, I am too busy!” And it’s not like I’m doing really exciting stuff, it’s just random things.

What have I been doing?

  • Well, I moved for one. I need to blog about that in more depth. People nicely warned me that it could take a while to get settled and I shouldn’t beat myself up if I wasn’t able to get everything sorted and organized in a month or two. I brushed off their words. Hahaha. I’m entering month four and I am still finding stuff to sort. Mind you, a lot has been done but there’s still a ways to go.
  • I bought a car! I REALLY researched this, asked people’s opinions, researched some more, and then took the plunge. It’s not fun going from having zero car payment to having a car payment, but it was time. My car was 16 years old so with any luck this will last just as long. Thankfully I got a very fair deal, and while I had to adjust the budget a bit (which I had been planning for), it’s a comfortable adjustment. More than anything else, I feel safe in my car and that’s definitely worth it.
  • I’ve been working a lot, doing some freelance. (See “car payment,” above, haha.)
  • I’ve been training for a half marathon. I’m definitely in the “one and done” category. I like running, but I think after this I’ll stick to 5 and 10Ks.It’s been a little hard to get going a lot of days because I feel kind of tired and sluggish. Not depressed, not sad, just sluggish and foggy. I wonder if my thyroid is off, or if it’s just that I’ve had a lot of big things going on. I love where I live now, but the other day I missed my apartment for a minute. It was smaller, I had a lot of stores in walking distance (great for errands!), etc. Maybe I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed about stuff.

On a happy note, I decided to treat myself to a knitting pattern and some yarn I’ve admired for *at least* a year, probably two. I can’t wait to start it! Knitting helps me focus, chill out, and sit still.

Another happy thing? The other night I had the house to myself so I cleaned up a bit, did some laundry, organized some stuff, watched my beloved QVC (window shopping is fun!), and while on the couch Miss Sophie jumped up near my head. 🙂

    Sophie the Stealthy.

Then Sammi, our puppy, started barking that she wanted to get up.

    They are quite the pair.

I really need to blog about them. They are getting along great. I was so worried about that when I moved in. It’s working out really well, though. Grizzy and Sophie still romp around and hang with each other, but Sophie seems to find some comfort with Sammi, too. That is, G can be very much the rowdy mancat, so it seems like when Sophie wants to have some quiet time, she hangs out with Sammi. They are the ones who let me know when it’s bedtime and they both sleep on the bed. G seems to enjoy his solitude in the basement (in the “man cave,” of all places) or on his living room chair where he can look out the window.

Whew, if you made it all the way through that, congrats and thank you. Also, Do you have any tips for organizing your time or getting more organized overall? My issue is feeling overwhelmed and scattered. I’m doing small things, like cutting out caffeine, waking up 10 minutes ealier each week so I have more time, etc., but this is something that always seems to be my Achilles’ heel and I’d like to change it once and for all. Thank you!

    Have a lovely week!

  1. I found when I started eating more grass fed/pasture raised saturated fats that I had more energy

As for getting organized.. the easiest way is not always the ‘easiest’ way.. getting rid of most of the stuff. I’m working on organizing my craft room stuff, and I’m getting rid of so much stuff.

Thank you! I am trying to do more meal planning, to save time/get organized but also help me be more conscious of what I’m putting into my body, so it’s good to know about the grass fed/pasture raised beef. I will definitely try it.

Last night I got rid of one bigger item–a portable room air conditioner. Although I know the real test will be going through my boxes of random stuff that sit on the shelf right behind where the AC unit lived…
