Look at where the time went! I can hardly believe we’re in our last week of September. Things seem to be slowing down thankfully. Contest season is slowing down (I’m an area director for Toastmasters) so whee!
My goal is to take advantage of this upcoming Q4. That said, I wanted to pop in and let you know the furkids are being well taken care of:
Not sure why that is a) huge (yoogue? haha), and b) sideways, but for now I’ll leave it as-is because I’m going to get back into blogging, darnit!
Now, to respond to some blogs!
But where is the snow?
I liked how Sophie was gazing out the window. Perhaps she was wondering where the snow is, too? 🙂
I like snow and sadly, there is no snow here! Hopefully this will change soon. Snow is very peaceful and calming. I don’t particularly enjoy driving in it, but I do like walking in it. I also like being tucked up inside while it snows outside. Something about snow gives me a much-needed pause. Oh, snow…where are you?
The heat is on, though, so this place is super dry. My old humidifier broke and I broke down (har, har) and bought a sweet two-tank humidifier. It is so worth the money! I’m loving the lack of static and weeks later, Grizzy and Sophie are loving the box. A win-win!
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!
It snowed this past weekend (!) but the week before it was super sunny. I caught Sophie sunbathing and was struck by how bright her eyes were. A few minutes later Grizzy decided he wanted some sun, too. 🙂
Bright light, bright light!
G decided he wanted some sun, too.
To last yesterday was awful was a complete understatement. I’ve had so much unfun stuff going on, with my grandma, and now other stuff has really got worse. It’s hard when people try to undermine you in completely false and awful ways. 😡 However, I have to say, the kitties are such a comfort. Last night I went to bed and it was cool but not really cold. Yet they laid on my legs all night. It was so wonderful to wake up and feel that weight; they made me feel a lot better about everything.
Then this morning Miss Sophie was full of energy, zip-zip-zipping all over the place. I was up at the crack of dawn so I let them out in the hallway and watched them run around.
Things still suck mightily–in fact, I read something this morning that has me seething mad–but I know it’s important to count your blessings, especially in bad times. And this morning I feel very blessed thanks to those two small fries (as well as some great friends!).
Or rather, Sunday on a Monday:
Lazy Sunday, hanging out on the bed.
I love how Sunday (and even Saturday) seems to be “Let’s hang out on the bed” day. It was lovely.
The weekend was fairly uneventful, but it was nice. Got some painting done, ran errands, saw a children’s play that my lovely niece starred in, and chilled out. I found out on Sunday that my high school reunion was the night before. I found out via a former classmate’s post on Facebook. I questioned him (reunion?) and he then tried to add me to some reunion page (after the fact, mind you) but was unable. Oh, well. If I ever needed any convincing that I didn’t need to attend another high school reunion, that was it. 🙂 Honestly, I kept in touch with one person from high school and sadly, he died a couple years ago. I’ve got one former classmate as a Facebook friend and that’s it. ::shrug::
It’s a short week, yahoo! And it’s almost July, which means the year is half over. Time to queue up some second-half-of-2015 goals. Let’s hope there are good things in store and let’s try to make those good things happen!
First off, I apologize again for the lateness. My computer is basically on life support. I’ve been narrowing down my computer selection and I will be making a final decision by tomorrow (payday, woo). Goodbye, monies! But I know I’ll be very happy not having to use the work computer on off hours.
Second, thank you to everyone who read and commented. I truly appreciate it. Sophie is my special girl and it was fun to celebrate her day. I have pictures below, but first, I’d like to get to the random winner!
(It’s here I need to apologize again. I couldn’t get the stupid plug-in to, well, plug in! So we improvised here at TRB. Names in a hat!)
And the lucky winner is…
Roberta, if you read this, please comment below or email me directly if you have my email. I can then send your gift, which has a little something for you and a little something for the furbaby (or babies) in your life.
Sophie with her birthday treat.
You may be wondering why Sophie doesn’t have a candle. Well, she once got a little too curious about a real candle and there went a couple eyebrow whiskers. After that, I decided no more candles in the house. I did sing to her, though. 🙂
Maybe I’ll give it another try…
For the last time, Mom, NO!
Thank you again to everyone who wished my little girl well. It really was a fun day for me.
We’ve been having some computer issues here at The Rosie Bee. I apologize that we didn’t announce Sophie’s birthday prize winner! We promise to announce the grand winner on Wednesday, March 25. (That gives us a couple extra days to work out all the issues and if nothing else, find a different computer from which to post!)
Thank you for your patience!
Crashed out from too much merry-making.
Irish or not, we wish you a very happy St. Patrick’s day!
